I think someone here recommended this book before.  Of all of Tolle's wildly popular books, "The Power of Now" one seems to be the favorite and I just finished reading (listening to) it.  
The main point of that book is that we are not our thoughts. We are the consciousness that is aware of those thoughts. Our thoughts are mostly just products of our egos and our egos are not who we are.
